Description Of Work:
ZHC Customer Builders built a 10 x 14 wood frame shed in our backyard. It is completely sided with vinyl siding. It includes a loft for additional storage, peaked roof, two windows, 6 foot double steel doors, and poured concrete floor.
We heard about Dave, the owner of the business, from his father who is a neighbor. As we were new to the area, just buying a house here a year ago, we asked around for good contractors. A number of neighhbors recommended him, so we called him for an estimate. Because we have a fenced in yard, we couldn’t have one of the Amish sheds delivered unless we took down the fence and put it back up – all additional costs. We compared prices and thought having it built on site was the way to go. At first we wanted it to be 20 X 24, but when we got the estimate, that was way over budget, plus it was going to require a great deal of excavating. Working with Dave to get the price into the ballpark was a breeze and he worked out all the details ahead of time on paper rather than making a bunch of costly changes during construction. He was very easy to work with and accepted all of our designs without problem. He even put up two rafters for my wife to look at to determine the pitch she wanted. She was working during the day and Dave waited until she made her choice before going ahead. In all the job took about three weeks but that wasn’t constant working. ZHC started the concrete slab one week, got the majority of the framing and siding up the next and added the finishing touches the following. Every night the site was clean and any items that were left for the next day was either stored in a nice pile out of the way or in the shed once it was constructed. The finsihed project is just what we ordered and so well built that we could rent it out for an efficiency apartment. Dave took care of all the permitting and inspections and will return to repair the lawn where the concrete truck came in on the soft ground. He even cleared it with the neighbor before crossing his yard. No issues there.Would we use ZHC again, you bet. They will be replacing a garage door system and reconstructing a wall where a built in air conditioning unit is being removed. Dave got an additional job from a friend of ours and is writing up an estimate for a neighbor. Definitely give him a call.
